Wilson Water Group ‘West Fork Water Rights’ Report

The final draft of the Wilson Water Group analysis of two water rights held by the San Juan Water Conservancy District — the West Fork Reservoir storage rights and the West Fork Canal diversion rights — was shared with the public in February 2021. The SJWCD Board expects to consider approving and accepting the report in late March. You can download the draft report below.

The Board is required to take action by June 21, 2021 if it wishes to move the rights to a different location. Other alternatives include sale of the water rights, or abandonment.

Public comments concerning the future dispensation of the West Fork water rights should be emailed to SJWCD President Al Pfister (apfister.sjwcd@gmail.com) prior to March 15, 2021.
