The San Juan Water Conservancy District (SJWCD or District) is governed by a ten member Board of Directors who serve four-year terms. The Board adopts an annual budget based upon a mill levy. The present Board, their positions, and current terms of office are as follows:

- Jack Delange, Secretary/Treasurer (to March 21, 2010)
- Windsor Chacey, Director (to March 21, 2010)
- Fred Ebeling, Director (to March 21, 2010)
- Mark Garcia, Director (to March 21, 2012)
- Fred Schmidt, Director (to March 21, 2012)
- Harold Slavinski, Director (to November 11, 2011)
- Pat Ullrich, Director (to March 21, 2012)
- Carrie Weiss, Director (to January 6, 2009)
- Karen Wessels, Director (to March 21, 2012)
The Board meetings, which are open to the public, begin at 9:00 am the second Monday of each month at 100 Lyn Avenue in the Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District Board room.
